What is Lantana?
Lantana (Lantana camara) is a sun-loving, heat-tolerant flowering plant that produces clusters of tiny flowers in vibrant colour combinations — typically changing colour as they age, giving a multicoloured effect on each flower head. One of the best butterfly and pollinator-attracting plants available for warm gardens.
Growing Instructions
1. Scarify seeds lightly with sandpaper or soak in warm water for 24 hours
2. Sow in seed trays at a depth of 3–6mm in well-draining compost
3. Maintain soil temperature of 21–24°C for germination. Takes 14–21 days
4. Grow in full sun — Lantana needs at least 6 hours direct sunlight to thrive
5. Plant out after all frost risk has passed in a sunny, sheltered position
6. Water regularly until established, then reduce — Lantana is drought-tolerant
