Growing Instructions

Sunlight: Provide bright indirect light or gentle morning sun while seedlings are young.

Soil: Use loose, fertile, well-drained soil that does not remain soggy around developing bulbs or fleshy roots.

Watering: Water evenly during active growth, allowing excess moisture to drain freely from the root zone.

Sowing Depth: If growing from seed, sow shallowly with the seed just covered; if the listing contains true bulbs, plant with the upper neck above the soil line.

Spacing: Allow enough room for bulb clumps or mature foliage to expand without crowding.

Germination: Fresh seed may germinate in about two to six weeks under warm conditions.

Blooming Time: Seed-grown amaryllis can require several years to form a mature bulb capable of flowering.

Plant Height: Mature height varies by species, from compact forms to flower stalks several feet tall.

Care Tips: Maintain excellent drainage and steady warmth during active growth; reduce watering when the plant enters dormancy.
