Growing Instructions

Sunlight: Provide bright light to full sun or partial sun according to species and local climate.

Soil: Use loose, fertile, well-drained soil that does not remain soggy around developing bulbs.

Watering: Water evenly during active growth while allowing excess moisture to drain freely.

Sowing Depth: Sow seed shallowly according to seed size; seed-grown bulb plants often need several seasons before flowering.

Spacing: Allow enough room for mature foliage and bulb clumps to expand without crowding.

Germination: Germination commonly takes several weeks and may require seasonal temperature changes for some species.

Blooming Time: Plants started from seed may require multiple seasons to build sufficient bulb size before flowering.

Plant Height: Mature height varies from compact forms to flower stalks several feet tall.

Care Tips: Use excellent drainage and respect natural dormancy cycles where the species requires a resting period.
