Growing Instructions

Sunlight: Provide full sun to partial sun; young seedlings may benefit from protection from intense afternoon heat.

Soil: Use a fertile, well-drained seed mix, then transplant into deeper soil that allows unrestricted root growth.

Watering: Keep evenly moist during germination and establishment, then water deeply as the root system develops.

Sowing Depth: Lightly scarify the seed coat, soak if desired, and sow about one-quarter inch deep.

Spacing: Start in individual pots or cells and transplant with generous long-term spacing appropriate to a woody plant.

Germination: Warm conditions commonly support germination in about one to three weeks.

Blooming Time: Seed-grown shrubs and trees generally flower only after reaching sufficient maturity, which can take multiple seasons.

Plant Height: Mature size varies from compact perennial forms to large tropical shrubs.

Care Tips: Protect young roots, provide good drainage, and allow adequate time for woody seedlings to establish before final planting.
