Growing Instructions

Sunlight: Provide full sun to bright partial sun; light afternoon shade can help in very hot climates.

Soil: Use lean to moderately fertile, well-drained soil; overly rich soil can reduce flowering.

Watering: Keep evenly moist during germination, then water when the upper soil begins to dry.

Sowing Depth: Sow about one-half inch deep, preferably where plants will grow or in biodegradable pots.

Spacing: Space compact types about eight to twelve inches apart and give trailing forms more room.

Germination: Warm soil commonly supports germination in about seven to fourteen days.

Blooming Time: Plants generally flower in the same season and continue through warm weather.

Plant Height: Growth ranges from compact mounds to trailing or climbing stems several feet long.

Care Tips: Avoid heavy feeding, remove faded blooms where useful, and provide support for climbing types.
