Growing Instructions

Sunlight: Provide full sun to partial sun; young seedlings may benefit from protection from intense afternoon heat.

Soil: Use a fertile, well-drained seed mix, then transplant into deeper soil that allows unrestricted root growth.

Watering: Keep evenly moist during germination and establishment, then water deeply as the root system develops.

Sowing Depth: Clean seed and sow about one-quarter inch deep after an appropriate cool, moist stratification period.

Spacing: Start in individual pots or cells and transplant with generous long-term spacing appropriate to a woody plant.

Germination: Rose seed germination is naturally variable and may take one to four months or longer after stratification.

Blooming Time: Seed-grown roses require patience and can take several seasons to reach dependable flowering size.

Plant Height: Mature height depends strongly on species, pruning, climate, and growing space.

Care Tips: Keep seedlings well ventilated and note that plants grown from seed may differ from the parent flower in color or form.
