Growing Instructions

Sunlight: Bright, filtered light; protect seedlings from harsh midday sun.

Soil: Orchid seed is dust-like and normally requires sterile flask culture on a suitable nutrient medium rather than ordinary potting soil.

Watering: Maintain sterile, evenly humid culture conditions during flask germination; acclimatize seedlings gradually after deflasking.

Sowing Depth: Do not bury orchid seed; it is sown on the surface of sterile culture medium.

Spacing: Spacing is handled after seedlings are large enough to deflask and pot individually.

Germination: Germination is variable and can take several weeks to months under sterile culture.

Blooming Time: Seed-grown orchids commonly require multiple years to reach flowering maturity.

Plant Height: Mature size varies widely by orchid genus and growing conditions.

Care Tips: Use clean tools, stable warmth, filtered light, and species-appropriate orchid culture after seedlings are established.
