Growing Instructions

Sunlight: Choose a site with at least six hours of direct sun for vigorous growth and dependable flowering.

Soil: Use fertile, well-drained loam with good organic matter and steady root aeration.

Watering: Keep seedlings evenly moist, then water deeply at the root zone while allowing the surface to begin drying between waterings.

Sowing Depth: Clean seed and sow about one-quarter inch deep after an appropriate cool, moist stratification period.

Spacing: Start in individual cells or pots, then transplant with enough room for mature shrub growth and airflow.

Germination: Rose seed is naturally variable and may take one to four months or longer to germinate after stratification.

Blooming Time: Seed-grown roses may take several growing seasons to reach dependable flowering maturity.

Plant Height: Mature size varies from compact shrubs to tall or climbing forms depending on the rose type.

Care Tips: Keep seedlings well ventilated and remember that seed-grown roses may differ from the parent plant in flower color or form.
